KIDS AI CODING
Empowering kids aged 8β13 through AI-powered coding education.
Join global hackathons, learn programming through fun projects, and prepare for the future using innovative, kid-friendly AI tools.
π About the Event
What is the Worldwide Kids Vibe Coding Hackathon?
The Worldwide Kids Vibe Coding Hackathon (WoKiViCo) is a coordinated series of in-person hackathons where children aged 9 β 13 unleash their creativity through coding, game design, and digital making. On 10 β 11 October 2025 β all within a single 48-hour window β local venues across the globe open their doors so young makers can build projects that matter to them, their communities, and the planet.
π What is Vibe-coding?
Vibe-coding is a new way of making computer programs where you describe what you want in everyday language and an AI writes the code for you. Instead of learning programming jargon, you act like a project director, telling the system things like “I need an app that reminds me to drink water,” and it hands back a working prototype. You then click around to see whether it behaves as expected and ask the AI to fix or tweak anything that feels off. It speeds up early experiments and lets non-coders βkids or adultsβ turn ideas into software.
Andrej Karpathy popularized the term in February 2025 with a post on X: “Note that the automatically generated code can still contain hidden bugs or security issues, so a human expert should usually review it before it goes in production.”
